WXPN is seeking a Broadcast Engineer
*Duties:*
The Broadcast Engineer maintains the studio and control room equipment
for WXPN-FM, including consoles, audio recording and playback equipment,
remote equipment, satellite downlink facilities, broadcast transmission
equipment and off-air monitors. S/he performs equipment installations
and upgrades as planned by the Director of Engineering. The ideal
candidate must be familiar with digital as well as analog audio systems.
This position requires occasional flexible hours to accommodate
air/production schedule.
*Qualifications:*
Bachelors degree, Electronic technical school graduate, or equivalent
experience required. SBE certification a plus. One to three years
experience required. Experience as a radio station maintenance engineer
preferred. Component level maintenance skills, knowledge of standard
wiring conventions used in the industry, mechanical skills and the
ability to read schematics and mechanical drawings are a must. Computer
skills including familiarity with all operating systems and basic
computer maintenance are required. Familiarity with public radio is a plus.
