Apple Computer Inc. looks to take its scripting architecture to a new level in the next release of Mac OS X, aka "Tiger." The forthcoming Automator will provide a simple, graphical environment for building complex scripts and even applications.

Tiger's Automator still carries its code name of Pipeline in the version released to developers at Apple's recent Worldwide Developers Conference in San Francisco. The tool is an attempt by Apple to make automating repetitive tasks on the Mac easier than has been the case previously.

This is a great idea. Of course, we still have old Applescript, which is just excellent.. but this addition seems to be just what we need.

OK.. I have read more about it. It is not that exciting and I fear it will for the first time establish a platform for trojans on the mac platform.
