By the way, what EDA suite are you using?

i'm using osmond on a mac. it seems a lot more straight forward than just about anything i've used plus the free version is good for up to 750 hole layouts... and since i do my faceplates in illustrator i can bring a PDF into osmond as a template and it makes doing PCBs for control boards ful of pcb mounted pots extremely easy.

i'll be posting a control panel that will work with either a frac or euro panel in a couple of days. it will connect to the SDS3 board via the headers.

thanks for hanging in there guys. this has my full attention again , hopefully that make s a difference.

Ahh, probably why I didn't recognise it. I do very little with Macs these days. Intuitivity sure is an ongoing issue with EDA's.

Can't you use a DXF for that? I thought it would be easier to work with. I used to work with a graphic designer in my last job. I would get him to do the user interface and front panel layout in Illustrator, and use a DXF format drawing for use in my CAD software (Autocad and Protel). I'm pretty sure that's how we did it (it's going back a bit now). I think PDF's are less convenient to work with in CAD.

Cool, looking forward to it.

hi guys -i just got back from a much needed break and got WAY less work done on this than i'd planned, but i'll be getting on with V.2 this weekend. did manage to get well into the latest Iain Banks novel, so that's something.
BTW i'm seriously thinking about making this a 2 sided board which should shave quite a bit of room off the PCB cause it's kinda big for a eurorack design, about 115MM wide as a 1 sided PCB. i'll still be posting a 1 sided version if anyone wants to roll their own.
this could all change if a 2 sided version ends up sounding different. there are those like Ken MacBeth that swear single sided sounds better, we'll see.

It sure would be nice to add these to the rig.

Maybe if there is a difficulty with particular aspects, then others could help out? I would be happy enough to try to help with electronics issues.
