What might really work for Clavia is a Wave2/G3 combo, but maybe more direct than the original post suggested. Make a nice preset, completely editable stand-alone keyboard. Just like the Wave and previous Nord VA keyboards were. But, give it a back door, with the modular editor, and you have a product that's both mass-appeal, as well as tech savvy, and that sounds absolutely great to me. In fact, make it so modular users could create presets for others to buy on some apple website, and it'd be an instant hit among the current mass-marketed crowd. |

Yupp. That's the way Eventide does it with it's FX machines. Huge batches of great sounding preset algorithms for the normal users, full modular editability under the hood for the geeks. That's the way to go. |

Let's see, Eventide decided to release lower cost effects units in pedal format for guitar players, starting with the Timefactor and Modfactor. The Timefactor was so successful, they released a Pitchfactor pedal.
So if Clavia follows Eventide's example, we should see a Micromodular G3.
An earlier precedent was set by Moog Music, with the release of analog synth modules in pedal format. _________________ Current and recent work on Soundcloud

Yes, you would think that they would release a G3 micromodular considering the marketplace would love it.
The problem is Clavia and their manager don't believe it.. |

Given Clavia's newfound love for modeling as closely as possible pre-existing instruments, you'd think a Clavia modular "guitar pedal" with models of amps, pedals, etc, might be a monster hit. Just put a 13-pin connector on it And MIDI, so we can still use it as a synth. |
