nord 2x emulation on the nord wave? Subject description: ... is it possible? |
 |
|
I am a huge fan of the Nord 1/2xx. It has a certain sound to it that has lent itself extremely well to doing psytrance, which is one of the styles I produce.
I have been told by friend that the Nord Wave sounds more like the NL1/2 series than the NL3, an instrument that for some reason lost that "sound" that I loved completely in the previous synths from clavia. Is this true?
Does a NL1/2 osc and filter option exist is the Wave, by sound, even if unnamed as such? I REALLY love the new things that the wave does, but might need to replace my old NL2x if the wave can't do both.
Thanks for all your help!

I think you can't say the Nord Wave is a replacement of the NordLead. Surely they have things in common, but also much differences. Best is to sample as much of the NordLead sounds to use eventually in the Wave, if needed...
The NordLead3 is also a different synth.

hi wout,
thanks for the reply.
unfortunately, it isn't static sounds that were so valuable in the NL2, it was the way the filter and pitch mod stuff sounded mostly, so while i know that the wave is a completely different animal... i am primarily curious that if setup with a basic waveform, a basic hp filter (for instance) and some pitch mod... if it can have the tonal characteristics that were so unique to the NL2... especially while the filter and pitch/pitch mod are being swept around.
sorry for not being more specific before.

Hi,
Can you describe more of what you mean by pitch mod? What types of sounds? LFO to pitch?
I have both a lead 2 and lead 3 - would be very interested to hear the particular things you like most about the lead 2. i enjoy them both.
thanks. |

i need to try to find something that captures what i am referring to a little better, but here is a track from about 5 years ago that uses a lot of nord for the squelchy leads.
