G2 patch variation change / MIDI volume interaction

Have you noticed that patch variations store the last MIDI
volume setting sent in over controller 7 (or set with the patch
level knob?)

I suppose this can be useful in a way, but if you're using the G2
with a sequencer and you're trying to automate volume with
controller 7 and also changing patch variations, it can get quite
annoying.

Most synthesizers treat volume 7 as a per-channel master volume,
not as a per-patch-variation volume setting. It's like having your
volume reset each time you send a program change.

How many have noticed this one?
