Hi,

On my G2, 50% of the switches (like octave or variation selection) are very little responsive. I need to push them HARD to register the press.
Is it a common issue ? Any advice to give them their youth back ?

In my experience, every Nord synth I have had (and these are many) needed the love of some contact cleaner in the buttons eventually. Fortunately all the Nord synths are really easy to disassemble.

Before using contact-cleaner, try pressed air to clean them. At least i did and all my buttons work again.

Help!
So I dismantled the control panel of my G2, but I'm not sure how to remove the switch caps without damage. Any tips ?

EDIT : found this : https://www.phase57.com/build/nord-modular-repair/buttons/

They do come off pretty easy. Just a squeeze and they will pop out.

One bit of advice: while you are in there, clean all of them, even though it is a daunting task. I opened mine to do the Store button, but missed another button that I forgot about. So I have to open it again, later.

Thanks @jamos.
I took the time to clean them all (isopropyl alcohol, then a touch of contact cleaner). Had to reopen 2 times though, to fix some switches that were still unresponsive, and also one switch that was mechanically stuck due to screwing the PCB too tight.
Also I couldn't unscrew the pitch stick as one of the screws was damaged, so the operation was a bit tricky.
All in all it's not that trivial, but it's now working perfectly !
