Uni-vibe type phaser with mono/stereo In and Out. |
 |
|
This is a Uni-vibe type phaser with mono/stereo input and a mono/stereo output;
Meaning you can process in mono, mono in pseudo-stereo out, or stereo in and out.
This has been created on the demo, which doesn't have audio input modules, so you just need to create one and connect straight to the FX input module. (L to L, R to R)
Or obviously the circuit can be incorporated into a synth.
The Vibrato setting, like the uni-vibe itself, needs a generally faster Rate setting to become audible/useful.
The frequency centres for the 4 (+4) stages have been set by ear, and I haven't got a uni-vibe here to check them.
The Uni-vibe used 2 "Low" tuned stages and 2 "High" tuned stages to create a facsimile of a Leslie type rotor-cabinet (but resulted in a sound with it's own legendary merits)
It's probably best, if you wish to tweak them, to keep the respective stage on the other channel the same value.
Due to the lack of all-pass filters on the NM's, the design uses another system to recreate the notches, but it does seem to work with the same basic character (there is some inherent pitch-modulation which is a key element to the effect), I will be investigating some "warmth" tricks - this version *may* be a bit clinical in it's current state.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated, as I can't run a guitar through this 'till I get back to the G2. (to play the intro to "Breathe" a few times ).
Controls are on the morph knobs:
Wheel: LFO Rate
1: Modulation Depth
2: Vibrato/Chorus
3: L(Mono)/ Left & Right Input
4: L(Mono)/ Left & Right Output
Grant.

U*ni-vibe / modwheel assign |
 |
|
Hi,
we have been trying this with electric guitar and drums/bass, and it sounds cool on var 1.
We just posted a question on how to assign the modwheel. We had a mental blanc spot because you can't assign MIDI controllers 0 and 1, your patch taught us how to do it.
You have to use the Morph assign for the wheel. (drove us mad for more than half an hour) Thanks...
Indeed the patch could use some warmth / lo-fi character. We've done fine inserting extrenal overdrive.

Great,
Glad I helped with your "patchers-block"! I get that a lot.
The warmth issue is tricky for me 'till I can test with a guitar...
I patched a basic sound generator to work with, but I could guess it might need a little more character.
It may be worth playing w the centre-frequencies of the phase stages... But I'll get onto it asap.
Thanks for the fedback!
