Beat Destroyer Subject description: Audio example inside. |
|
|
Hello there.
This patch was inspired by the second half of the NIN's song the great destroyer.
It consists in a "detecting unit" that opens/closes a volume gate in function of what you feed in the 1/2 bus. The triggering signal is the processed signal itself.
Then it goes into a first "FX unit" with freezing, saturation, bit reduction etc.
Finally, a delay is applied (A1-5 for example) with FX in its feed back loop.
The A1 and A2 pages contain the more immediate parameters. B1 page contains the detecting parameters. C1 page contains the feed back FX parameters as well as F1/F2 pages.
Maybe the assignation is not the best, but I had fun like that anyway.
Try it with a drum patch with many parts and a spread frequency sprectrum.
The audio example features :
- the dry beat some of you could recognize...
- the beat being processed with saturation, wrapping, bit reduction, then filtered
- the beat being "frozen" and tweaked, then the gate is switched on.
- the beat being tweaked in a radically way then sent into the feed back loop and finally totally destructed.
Beware the volume of your system : the file is louder in its second half...
Oh... I did not program variations so tweak it...

I read the EP you're talking about was released in 2006.
It just can't be my patch on it, but it seems to be the same principle... _________________ Folie à 6
