Invisible files on OSX

a few days ago I had to completely reformat my internal HD of my PowerBook. So, I did a backup copy of it on an external HD and zapped the internal one. I knew it was going to be a long process to reinstall everything from scratch. After awhile I discover that the folder containing all my personal data (users/seraph) is empty (on the backup copy Exclamation

)

Many of the items inside that folder were also saved somewhere else but many others weren't Crying or Very sad

). I have spent the following 4 days reinstalling applications and trying to remember what I had lost then, by chance, I noticed that the "empty" folder was worth more than 10Gb of data Shocked

I started googling for "invisible files" and discovered a small utility called XRay.
To make a long story short, thanks to that utility I was able to mount the folder content as disk image on my computer desktop and from there recover EVERYTHING I thought I had lost. It's a great joy, after 4 days of desperation Wink

to be able to say: "I am proud of myself, I am a real geek" Very Happy
