Hello all,

I have used cakewalk for a number of years and have recorded 3 albums on cakewalk products. I understand the program pretty well, but of late have has some difficulties recording from MIDI to WAV. I figured some of these issues out and have optimized some of the audio options and global settings in the program, and that solved most of the problems. However, I have had one very disturbing problem, and I have no idea what it is caused by. All the tracks are 16-bit, and the little bar at the corner of the screen tells me my CPU is at 2%, and thats 95% of the time when I record. It doesn't go above 7%, which is not all that much anyway. The issue I am having is that, for whatever reason, the Hi-hats get all glitchy and don't record correctly (i.e. skips a lot, missed beats, etc.) This to me is quite strange because, first of all , the CPU usually doesn't exceed 2% usage. Secondly, I can record the most crazyass busy bassline and Sonar won't skip once. Even if I have just straight eighth notes on the hi-hats, they still come out funky. I considered that I may need to separate the open and closed hi-hats and put them on separate lines, but it doesn't make sense that I would have to do that. True, Sonar is probably not as optimized as I could get it, and I do have a slower setup than most people, but it just doesn't make sense as to why everything else will record and the hi-hats won't. Any advice that can be offered on either optimization of Sonar or correcting this problem would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
