Anyone have any insights into why Clavia only makes their synths 4 part multi, opposed to 16?

Id love to get a Nord Rack 3, but at the same time, I kind of feel like, if im going to get a go-to synth, id like it to have more voices, which makes me think of a Virus.

I love clavias sound, and the NL3 interface... but 4 parts... it just doesnt seem to cut it. :-\

thoughts?

Tradition?

The first one was just a 4 Voice synth..., which means 4 mono synths.
BTW they just have left that tradition... The Wave has only two Slots Wink

Not sure, really. I never ask Clavia about this.

I think Rob would know. Maybe it has something to do with the CPU which was chosen in the initial design. Although many components were changed, the basic structure of the NordLead is still the same.
At the other hand, the Lead is probably designed this way. Just playing single Programs, some Layers and Performances. How many 'synths' do you need to create a nice Performance? Most are just two Slots, some three and rarely four... AND the Lead is designed as a performing instrument on stage. Who needs a set up with four Performances at hand? It makes the synth more difficult to configure during a gig. Nobody ever stated the Leads were designed for studio use...
