Hi,

First post here have recently purchased a Nord Lead 2 and trying to get into synthesis.

The major problem I have is my board has a lot of edited sounds as it was second hand and I want to get back to the original factory presets.

Ive searched around the board and found a similar topic but no conclusive answer. Is there no way to get the board back to its original sounds?

Cheers

welcome Paul_G

First, is it a NordLead2 or a NordLead2X?

If it is just a NL2, there are only 40 Programs changed, which are also in the Performance L0 to L9, where each one of the four Slots in these memory location produce a factory sound [Manual page 108]

Is it a NL2X, then there is a lot which can be changed.
Surf to
http://nm-archives.electro-music.com/020_NordLead2/021_Patches/
where the maps 0000 to 1200 contain all Programs available in the NL cards (most of them appear in the NL2X) and also 3100 to 3400.

Hi Wout,

Thanks a lot for the kind welcome. Its just a Nord Lead 2 its not the 2X. Did fully understand your response sorry, do you mean there are permanent patches stored that are unchangable?

In the Lead's internal memory the first 40 locations are RAM, 41 to 99 are ROM. The PCMIA cards are completely RAM, of course.

[Manual Page 22 > Storing Programs and see the Text Box between point 2 and 3]

I use a special tool to save on the hard disc of my computer, see
http://nm-archives.electro-music.com/020_NordLead2/023_Miscellaneous/NordGenerator_Editor/
handy to study the settings of the Program too. Not that handy to use on stage, then the PCMIA cards are much easier.
