I've had a nice email back from Jim, and he says "Go for it".
There seem to be 2 schools of thought here - a small but expensive run, or a larger cheaper run, but possibly longer term. If most of the takers are from the USA, then the best idea would be for someone stateside to do this, because the postage will be a lot less that way.
I'll do some serious pricing work, and get back with some real options. I'm not in a hurry, so let's see how things develope. _________________ Mike |

Thanks for the update Mike, I prefer the larger / cheaper batch, not in a hurry as well and as this project is going to be expensive as it is I think cutting price on the pcb's is a must. |

I'd be interested in one of these boards too, Mike. large run/lower price small run/higher price, I'm cool either way.
I remember that Mikado sequencer piece getting some mention on AH a few years ago. I liked the look of it a lot and always wondered what became of it. It looks like a lot of fun. |

i am now thinking about the panel. what is necessary, what items are just pure luxury? you omitted the CVs for the breakpoints, didn't you. _________________

Count me down for one of these boards, if they happen! It'll wait to get completed, but I'd rather grab the PCB while it's (hopefully!) available. |

I basically followed Jim's panel on pg5 of his manual, except single inputs for vowel and resonance.
'3 CV inputs and outputs' - these are the 'shaper out & filter cv in' sockets - don't omit these, you can use the module to shape CV signals too. |

Indeed. The panel and about a hundred "priority interruptions" has kept mine in the to-do pile. At least the board is stuffed. _________________ http://www.cgs.synth.net/ |

Hello...just thought I would drop by....
I saw a question about permission...just want to assure everybody that this is all about having fun. The vocal filter is in the public domain, and feel free to make and distribute them any way you can. I wish I could participate myself ....
Best of luck to you all...

Thank you for the warm welcome...
I am not too sure what the NM list is...it must have been quite a while ago if I had subscribed...

Probably not then, NM is for Nord Modular. _________________ Jan

Yesterday when i visited Fonik, i got "infected" by the Vocal Filter Fever (aka VFF).
Is somebody planning/doing a small (or larger run) of the PCB ? _________________ Homepage - http://www.czmok.de

just to choke off any rumours: i just continued populating the board after a longer break.
this is a monster of a project. it runs alongside. i think it will require a 3U case of it's own, since there are a lot of controls... nevertheless i have the plan to definetely finish the unit THIS year! _________________

Just saw this thread - this filter sounds amazing. If there's a run of boards I would be very interested. |

I totally forgot about this one...
Err, well, still interested!!! I really hope someone is so nice and does a run of those pcbs. Or should I do that?
Are there any corrections necessary to Jims Gerbers, or is it just needed to send the Gerbers to a manufacturer and get working boards? If the latter is the case, I really might consider doing this...
Best wishes,
Tobias |
