Nord Electro 2: How to replace fuse? |
 |
|
Hello,
I just have a Nord Lead Electro 2 keyboard but the unit does not power on.
I opened it and i can't find a fuse.
Does someone have an idea?Wich part that needs to be replaced?
There is a black "thing" next to the voltage selector that say's "RN112-0,8/02 and also 0,8A/250V.
This has been soldered at the PCB.
Someone with more experience on this please? |

Other Clavia synths have an externally accessible fuse, near the mains entry point. _________________ Jan

It's the black screw between the power knob and the serial number indication shield/sticker.
A small tube comes out and at the end the fuse is held in place.

Hello Wout,
I've been looking for a black screw but there is not screw.
The powerknob has the voltage selector behind it.There is no room between it to place a screw.
It does have a large blue capsule, but this has been soldered at the PCB.
Everything on the powesuply-board has been soldered. There is nothing that can be pulled off to replace it.
So strange. Most synthesizers have a fuse on the powerboard, wich is so easy to find and get it replaced.
But this Nord Electro 2 looks to be a pain in the ass. |

It is on the outside, not inside the synth. _________________ Jan

On the outside?
I've been turning this NE2 upside down for 20 times now and nothing noticable.
The only screws left to untight are those to disconnect the keyboard from the metal frame.
It is the Nord Electro 2 73 key modell.
Can someone provide a picture with what it looks like please?
Many thanks, |

You can attach it, when you post a message you'll see a button "add an attachment" somewhere below the area that you type in, click it and you'll get a new screen allowing you to pick a file from your local computer. _________________ Jan

It's the black tube on the right side of the PCB, normally it sticks out through the case so it looks like the image I posted anyway, on the side that sticks out it's a screw that you open up by using a screw driver with a somewhat largish blade, one quarter of a turn and it will pop out I think ... other wise a couple of turns. _________________ Jan

Hello,
It's that black tube indeed.
But it's not complete,so that's way it did not recognized it
It's missing the screw-part ,and i've been to a eletronics store a few minutes ago and they don't have that exact type
So i'll have to search for a replacement for it.
Thanks for the help,

And I'm going to get me some Belgian beers for the bit. I deserved them I think, while you found the fuse I cleaned the windows, the ceilings, the walls, the kitchen, the toilet & what not _________________ Jan

Maybe Clavia can help, only I think they are still closed for the moment.
Wonderfull picture of the power supply, special the flower print table decking. Surely, it must be Belgium, no mistake possible! I love the country for it! And the beer, of course
BTW any chance our countries will come together again? The Dutch culture is, IMHO, mostly Flemmish and a bit Walonian!

Who knows?
Holland and Flanders together as 1 country.
Not sure about that, should be much better for Flanders, those Walonians are only stealing are money we worked so hard for.
Maybe we meet sometime on a synthesizer meeting.
Help me to remember that i need to pay you guys some beers. |

May I request that you buy that beer for a poor Walloon "neighbor" instead; looking from outside it seems that Belgium is in need of such gestures
In the Netherlands we have some of such stealing stories as well. Like the natural gas that's present in the northern part of the country which is supposed to be stolen by the people in the Western part. But then they forget about the social security network which was basically paid for by importing cheap labor from Spain, Turkey .. Poland nowadays .. into mostly the western part of the country where the industry happens to be mainly ...
I think that social interactions between different regions in the world are too complex to simply point to one region and say that they are stealing from another part ... and don't forget ... if any stealing is going on at all it usually is the poor being robbed by a couple of rich ones.
This is all just IMHO of course _________________ Jan

Jan!
Come on, now...!
You know very well the best Dutch beer is brew in the east and south regions of The Netherlands! What is made in the west is just non-purified water from the Amsterdam canals...
Stroopwafels is a different thing!
And you know why stroopwafels are from Holland, where all the other wafels are coming from Belgium? Simple because over here people find the later much to big and to tasty, with these warm cherries and whipped-cream. Stroopwafels are much cheaper
