Hi,
I'm considering buying a Nord Stage 88 within the next few weeks but I'm still hoping to find out a few things.

1) is the amount of pitch assignable? Can you set the pitch stick to bend up an octave? That'd sweet!

2) I've read about people getting moderately passable string pads out of the synth section.......but I've started using a Mellotron-ish flute sound on my Roland FP5 and was wondering if there's anything similar achievable from the Stage. Obviously having them make the Mellotron samples available to the stage would be TOPS, but I think they'll just have me drooling over a Wave now as well.

Thanks for any help!
-Matt

The Manual states at Page 22
Quote:
COMMON FEATURES
ACTIVATING THE SUSTAIN PEDAL/PITCH STICK FOR INSTRUMENTS
...
• To activate Pitch Bend for an instrument section, press SHIFT + PSTICK button
in the corresponding instrument section so that the PSTICK LED lights up.
The bend range is fixed to -/+ 2 semitones.

This you have to try out yourself, I'm afraid...

Do you know if that is the case for ALL Nord Synths? Seems like ones such as the LEAD would be able to do an octave.

Why am I so lustful for these red keyboards?!

p.s. I'm new so I probably didn't quote right.

The NordLead2(X) is capable of one octave + and one -
The NordLead3 also, but the down range and up range can be set in any semitone in these octaves, so e.g. 12 semi up and only 2 down. This is a Global feature.
