audio for high res controllers?

is there any reason why this would not work (i haven't had a chance to patch it up yet).

g2 out 4 -> volume pedal -> g2 in 4
...send white noise out output 4, and run an envelope follower on input 4

or, use a set of switches with fixed resistence instead of a volume pedal, and send the envelope follower out to a a/d converter.

or, send an audio signal into the g2 (sk1, or any other tone generator), use the pitch tracker, note send, and note recieve modlues to trigger differant events based on pitch played.

...or, setup a number of tone generators (not from inside the nord) with individual volume pots. mix the outputs, and send into the g2. filter the input to isolate each of the frequencies, and run an envelope follower on each one.

...this would seem to give you external controllers with 24/96 resolution, and also allow those of us with the engine to have some external controll (without midi).
