and the key motivation for it is the keyboard.

I played it in the music store and imho the keyboard is a hell of a lot better than the one on the G2, something i didn't expect.

Made me change them, so now i've got the X-factor Very Happy

Gongratulations Wan. A while ago Wout Blommers had also reported the keyboard of the X to be much better. Something to keep in mind for the real keyboardi players I guess.

Thank you jan, you're quite right, for noodles the keyboard is not much of a difference i guess, but i just like to meander away on a keyboard and than it IS a difference, woow!
Wout also reported on the aftertouch being extremely controllable and i can second that also. The G2 itself is not bad in that aspect but the X does it even better...

I'm very happy at the moment drunken

(This morning i even didn't knew i would and could change them, talk about surprises)

I am wondering how the two new Wheels will be used. At the moment I working at a Patch which works together with the Nord Electro, in which two Wheels are used to Morph the Electro's DrawBars (changing 9 at the same time) and to 'tune' the Scratch Module, which gives the piano samples the sound of the old piano in the old hall in your old school...
Another feature gives the Midi Out send to the DrawBars, combined with Velocity. The organ section doesn't react to Velocity, 'cause the Hammonds don't react either. Velocity send return from the G2 to the Electro's DrawBars makes the organ section controllable in volume (the DrawBars are just volume sliders) and the harmonic content too.

Yes, the wheels...

They weren't the factor that let me buy the G2X, but now that i have them i will use them. In fact they are very welcome I discovered, cause at the moment i'm not quite content with the pitchstick (see http://electro-music.com/forum/topic-3408.html).
I've set wheel nr 2 (the bottom one) to an octave range of pitchbend and that's working out nice for me. Now i can make some large bends and get in tune at either end.
The other wheel i setup to introduce feedback an octave higher that the original sound, did this with aftertouch before, but the wheel has the advantage that it can be set to a value before the key is struck, something that is hard to do with aftertouch Smile
This is for one patch, another one i've made sofar lets wheel 2 change the waveform of several osc's, making it a kind of tonal control.

Now my experience is from just 2 days, so i definitly will come up with other uses for the wheels, but i already like them very much...

When I read this to Rob his reaction was : 'Ja wij ook !!' (so do we).

And aparently even Clavia does not know as there are just a few (only one ?) factory presets using them :-)

Hey Wout -- glad to hear that someone else is exploring the possibilities of the G2 and Electro in combination. I have knocked up a few patch ideas along the same lines while waiting for my G2X to finally arrive. I can't wait until it gets here and I can try them out.

Incidentally, I'd like to thank everyone who has contributed to the mailing list and this forum over the past couple of years. I've been lurking on both ever since I got my Electro, and I've learned more than I ever could from a book or a class. I fully expect to hit the ground running. You guys rock!
