Current Requirements - SN Voice, SuperController, Appendage |
 |
|
I'm putting together a distribution board for a rack that will include an SN Voice, a SuperController and (hopefully) an Appendage ribbon controller, among other things.
I'm trying to figure out how many connections I need to allow for on the board.
I can find power requirements for most of the modules I'm planning for but not for the three I mentioned above. (I realize I'm rushing things on the documentation for the Appendage, I'm sorry.)
Can anybody give me numbers, educated guesses even, about the power needs of those three?
Thanks,
Mark |

not sure about the current consumption of the three together, but i do recall seeing that the SN-voice takes +/-15v and +5v. |

Thanks, scriptstlye.
What I'm looking for, though, is the required mA for each of these modules.

hello mark,
the SN-voice is in a rackcase-mounted cabinet, but the SN super controller is still readily accessible.
this is what i measured for the super controller:
37mA on the positive rail,
24mA on the negative rail.
this is less than i had expected (for the positive rail at least). _________________

Thanks for this, Matthias. Exactly the kind of information I am looking for.

Looking at the circuits I was kind of intuiting the same thing. But I know that in electronics intuition is no better than luck. At least when one is as much of a noob as I am.

I'll check the current requirements for the Appendage this weekend. _________________ My Site |

110 mA @ +15V, -100 mA @ -15V.
It operates at +/-12V, too, but I haven't measured that yet. I can if you want me to. _________________ My Site |

Sweet.
Thank you so much.
Your hilarious image/reply makes me wonder how you could have known that I live just two blocks from the turbines of Bowersock Power

That wall wart power supply would make a pretty cool Fonik board, y'know! I'm serious about that. _________________ My Site |
