The Beast or Beauty? Subject description: What kind of 'tunes to make' |

Please do pardon my posting excitement but, I feel like a kid in a candy store and have to babble out loud!!
(Sorry, there's no mp3 yet but there shall be soon. Many of them. )
In moving my growing Lunetta machine over to the bench beside my normal modular, I started plugging in cables to the new modules that I got finished today in my latest panel and came to a cool discovery ......
Triangle waveforms taken from the CD40106 oscillators can sound absolutely beautiful, with just the slightest touch of vibrato! I hadn't expected THIS from my noise machine at all! Instead of opening a new 'can of worms', this opens up a wonderful Pandora's Box potential!
A piece can be started and happily carrying on with beautiful sounding non-normal scale melodies, in search of proper scales .... modulating away, like happy clouds wandering about the sky and then
SLAM!!! This eerie gut ripping tear of audio comes screaming across the audio field striking aural terror from hell upon your ears, sending the happy melodies down to depths so far below they could never be heard from again and
Softness settles in again ...... "ahhhhhh, what a RELIEF!" or "Kryste!!! What the hell's THIS wimp-sucking petals'n flowers shit?? I want more of the angst!!"
Anyhoo ...... that's one of the avenues that I'm intending to create when I start recording one of my first pieces with the machine.
Current panel contents of my Deathlehem Machine from left to right as of March 1009:
6 x CD40106 oscillators
2 x CD4023 Pulse Width oscillators
2 x CD4015 4 bit shift registers (1 not working and 1 working)
3 x CD4053 1 in 2 out voltage control and manual switches
6 x CD40106 oscillators (1 dedicated to the 4 Stage LFO)
2 x CD4015 4 bit shift registers (will be completed on Wednesday)
1 x CD4052 4 Stage LFO (4 pitch controls, which one is chosen, by 2 input jacks)
2 x CD4046 Liquid Voices each with dual CV and FM control (former Liquid HiHat)
1 x CD4051 1 in 8 out multiplexer
1 x 8 bit R-2R DAC
3 x 3 Input audio mixers
Duh. Just realized, I don't have any mp3s yet, but I can post a pic of the thing. |

Dang - You've been busy, Rych!
The Lunetta rack looks great merged with the beast. Hit the "record" button! _________________ www.sdiy.org/rfeng
