Subject description: Carroll relaxes to new age

Having traveled on business for many years, I discovered that New Age music helped me relax and rid my mind of the worries and stress involved in sleeping in strange environments. I am now interested in learning how electro music can be combined with bio-feedback to create the ultimate "mental getaway". - Carroll

Les says: As the electrical engineering type guy, my role would be to implement a simple hardware interface that senses a person's stress level. Then perhaps we could link it to music and create some type of instrument control or interface that would work well in this situation. I am open to suggestions as to hardware for this and especially how you would interact the composition with the biofeedback (getting back to the forum topic)...

Carroll again: If we were able to implement this - just think of the possibilities...erase anxiety and stress, redirect the mind of the fractured mentality, ease the mind of those individuals going through any kind of crisis. Just imagine if you had a friend going through a difficult divorce, facing unemployment, loss of a loved one and had the ability to change the direction of their thinking. Turn negative thoughts into positive ones through stress relief and redirection of thought via music.

Les here again: I suppose that we could accomplish some of Carroll's goals with biofeedback as applied to electro-music.com. Me, I would start with tempo. Adjust the tempo down as the person relaxes. Alsoe frequency, going lower with relaxation. I'd like to identify other specific musical components that would be best controlled in this way. And now a final remark from Carroll:

Carroll: Having personally experienced some of life's most challenging events within the past four years - death of loved ones, divorce, change of residence, loss of employment, I have come to realize that inner strength comes from outside sources - faith, friends, and music. How one uses these outside resources is what determines our future success as an individual.

once you solve the problem of implementing the ultimate "mental getaway" I will suggest frequency ratios suited for relaxation purposes Cool
