Subject description: Saving using the synth corrputs patches sometimes

Is this a known bug?
I only get this when working soley on the hardware. Editor = no problem.

- I'm saving a patch and when trying to find a sutiable storage location I "pass" a memory area (turning the rotary dial) with unused patches.

- After this "passage" all patches will be labeled "Unused" in the display. Even if they are occupied. Storing after this has happened will give either of two results:

1. If the location was indeed empty, patch is stored ok.
2. If the location was occupied the newly stored patch gets corrupt and can not be recalled.

Anyone else seen this?

Yes, this is a known bug, you can't have gaps in the storage.

That's what I suspected.

So downgrading/upgrading system (and thus resetting memory) is of no use? I found an old thread suggesting this.

Is this happening to ALL NM1 owners or just some unlucky guys like Wout Blommers and me?

Let me know what happens Wout...
I don't have Mac Classic so I can't do the upgrade/downgrade without a lot of trouble.

Wasn't there a trick with uploading a pchlist to the synth thinking ... it involved making an actual blank patch for the empty locations IIRC ...

I think it was used to empty the memory or something like that. Mainly used when selling the synth without Patches.

Well I tried making a bank with only one patch and downloaded to synth to clear all other patches in a bank. But that didn't help, or maybe it even started my memory trouble I'm not sure.

Anyway, to fill a bank with minimal dummypatches (so there are no gaps) I created a folder with 99 patches and used the download from folder option in the editor. As long as I stick to this I have no problems but 99 dummies makes the browser less useful.
