Some tricks that can be used :

Try to move DSP intensive operations to the FX area. Especially reverbs and echoes take quite some DSP. when you move those modules to the FX area usually a lot more voices can be had.

Some modules come in two variations. The first one has a drop down box to select the operation to be performed and others have a row of buttons. The ones with the button rows can be changed without the synth going silent, but the drawback is that they usually need more DSP resources.

Try to make some of the red or orange signals blue (overriding the automatic optimization mechanism). This can be done by inserting a note quantize rmodule into the signal chain.

You can also optimise performances by using one slot as an fx section. Make sure the polyphony in this slot is on mono and use the internal busses to send and/or return audio to and from the fx slot. Obviously there are infinite variations on this theme, but a basic one that works well for more conventional performances is as follows:

Delays and reverbs are especially dsp intensive, so by setting these up in their own slot (say slot D) with an audio in module set to bus 1/2 for the delay module and another with bus 3/4 for reverb module and by adding in a seperate output with it's own level control (mix1-1stereo) in each slot (A, B and C) assigned to bus 1/2 and another to bus 3/4 you can send different amounts of each slot to the different effects, as if each slot had it's own reverb and delay.

This will free up dsp in the first 3 slots, and if you require a 4th instrument, you can move this setup to slot 4's fx section and build an instrument in the CVA (again, using busses for effects).
