Hello every one !
Thinking of building the Psycho LFO.
But I got a few questions first.
On the parts list here: http://www.cgs.synth.net/
It list a Jack and SPDT switch, without mentioning which kind.
Is this a 1/4 jack ? or can i put any kind of jack, say a RCA one ?(not that i would)
I assume the spdt switch is the on > off > on kind, and would mount on the
case the LFO goes into, probably mod my own case.

Also could i plug the output jack directly into a speaker amp? or should it go thru
a mixer or something else first.
Sorry if these are complete newb questions, but this is all a bit new to me.

hi acidblue
welcome
the jack can be whatever you like - 3.5mm, banana, RCA, BNC....
For this circuit, an on-off switch will do. This is the Glide switch and will be mounted on the panel.

You could plug the Psycho LFO directly into an amp, it won't get hurt and mght even sound okay for a few minutes, but it is not designed to be an audio circuit. It is used to control other modules such as filters or VCOs.

I suspect you will need a power supply too. most of these circuits need a +/- voltage, batteries only give a + voltage. The CGS14 +/-15V power supply is an easy build and supplies enough current to drive several modules.

Don't be sorry about newb questions, everyone here was once a newb.
Smile
have fun

Thanks for the reply, that was helpful.
I was thinking of maybe using the Psycho LFO with this:

It can definitely be done judging by the schematics. Be warned though, those gakken's use SMT which is fine but can be a bit of a pain to deal with without the proper tools..
