Micromodular not working after upgrade to 3.03 |
 |
|
Hello,
I have a tendency to be verbose, so I'll try to keep it short.
Micro came in mail today
Listened to a few of the patches it came with ver2.1, then decided
to upgrade to 3.03.
Attached the device to midi in / midi out of novation sl mkii
and the patch started to go through until it got to 99% then gave
a message of er in the display.
Tried again with the slow (safer) checked and it completed the install to 3.03, it even said "Have fun"...
Well, when I unplugged then replugged it in, I could no longer scroll through the patches. Which isn't a problem as I didn't need to save the default patches, I plan on installing and making others. But it doesn't seem normal that I can't even get the patch number to go up or down at all. It's stuck at 1.
I'm hoping that if I am able to save patches all will be good with the world, but the editor won't discover the midi ports. It will say looking, then still looking/listening whatever. I've tried connecting with every interface I own, about 5 different sorts,... I turned on win 98 compatible mode, have the background as priority and have no other midi connected when I try to get this all working.
I would like to try and reinstall an earlier OS such as 2.1 or 3.0 along with the original patches, in order to get back where I started, but I can't find any older OS downloads nor do I have an idea about how it might be done. The OS updater doesn't give one very many options.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I intend to try and update it again on a different computer, if that doesn't work, I'm going to have a hissy fit. Then I will check back here for ideas.
Thanks |

So, yeah. My little Acer netbook just made my day...
I'm able to get the MM to see the editor and I'm pretty sure I'll be able to load patches now.
*sigh of relief* |

Ditto. BTW, did you figure out what the issue was? I will be receiving a NM1 soon, and may have to update it as well.
Cheers,

I'm guessing the upgrade blew away the saved patches, and if there where no patches as part of the upgrade, the Nord synthesizers don't just increment 1, 2, 3, 4 if there's no patches saved at those locations. The synth saves you the time of scrolling through blank patches
Load up some patches, and all should be well again! |

Does the loss of patches explain the lack of discovery of the device/port? _________________ Good good study, day day up! |
