I just got a Nord Stage ex and sometimes when I am uploading sounds or trying different sounds, the Nord Sound Manager will hang up when it hits 100% on the Download sound status. It just hangs forever. The problem is that if I shut down the nord stage and restart it that the download never happened but I'm missing the MB in my internal memory. Cleaning doesn't work. The only way to recover the missing memory is to re-format the entire memory and re-load the sounds hoping that one of them don't hang up.

This has happened repeatedly. I was almost done reloading and the last sound hung up. Each time it's something different. The first time it was the Blue Swede Piano, the next time it was the Yamaha C7 now after this reformat it was the Italian harpsichord.

Has anyone else experienced this behavior? And is there a way to recover the missing memory without a re-format?

Thanks,
Frank

I had emailed NORD support also about this problem and here was their reply:
----------------------------------
Hi

We are very sorry for this, it appears to be a issue with the 5.10
and/or the new Manager that can lead to this problem. Can you please go
back to OS 4.x, and use the previous version of the Stage manager and
*format* the piano partition (this is done from the File Menu of the
Manager), then reload the pianos.

If you want to try out the new pianos, load them while still on OS 4.x
in the Stage. Then update to 5.10 to try the new features. It appears to
be the actual transfer of pianos with OS 5.1 and Sound Manager 5.x that
sometimes creates this issue. Again, we are very sorry for this.

We will fix this issue as soon as we can.
----------------------------------

So if anyone has this problem, hang tight I guess, they're working on it.

I managed to get everything I wanted at the moment loaded in so I'm sitting tight at the moment until they issue an update!

Frank

Had exactly the same issues as you did.

NORD have now provide os 5.12 update for the STAGE which specifically resolves this error. I've just updated from 5.10 to 5.12 and no longer have any of the hangup issues! Hooray!!
