Hiya,

Just wondering if anyone here has the doepfer a112 wavetable osc?

I was hunting around for demos but all the stuff i can find seems to be well sample mangled or heaviliy processed... i'm trying to get an idea of how good this osc is for 'classic' wavetable sounds i.e. ppg type stuff?

Anyone got any feedback or demo's they'd like to share?

Sorry, haven't got one myself but I'm also interested in users' opinions.

Anyone?

Some of the ROMs for the Blacet Mini-Wave have PPG waves.
Plan B recently made a limited run panel/diy conversion kit for you Euro only folks.
Even if you didn't get in on the Plan B conversion kit it would be a simple and worthwhile DIY effort.
The Mini-Wave rules for all kinds of stuff.
I reckon it's quite different than the Doepfer one though.

Bump? Anyone tried the a112 in the last year?

Been hanging around the a100 yahoo group but no-one really seems to know there either, a couple of people have them but never seem to try doing chromatic stuff with it, just noise experiments.

I've got one, but can't say I'm really that interested in using it for standard PPG style stuff, I guess it should be able to do it though as you can control both the pitch and wavetable position by cv. You can record your own wavetables in manually or load them via midi if you use the provided software. It's quite fun to 'scrub' a waveform backward and forwards using a cv controller e.g. ribbon aftertouch

People at Muff's have been discussing this as well, accompanied by actual audio. Have a listen.
What bothers me with the a-112 is that in order to have a decay tail in wavetable mode, you have to set up a separate gate signal to have it keep going, as a normal oscillator would do. Also for the wave-CV you might want to add an offset. Now that we are talking about it I think I may solder up an expander module for it. well...

It's a fun enough module though.
