Certainly Dark Army rocks but have you heard Al Qadim? This song will knock your socks off! Inspired by a DnD module, what would be a more appropriate album entry? My fav remains Dark Army, but Al Qadim runs a close second. I'm a new fan of Uncle Krunkus's music! Encore! Encore!

Howard declined the offer to infuse majik into his ring and give it away on the grounds that choosing a winner means that everyone else is losers and we can all respect his noble attitude. EdisonRex also chose not to be a judge, so I found myself searching for what to do with the third ring...

Lo and behold my very own best friend and lifecoach, Sunshine decided to give away the third ring! Sunshine conjured up her lovely feminine powers and infused the third ring with the power of "positive energy".

So now we have deerg, the ring that reverses greed to be given away by Jan, the ring of free action to be given by myself, and the ring of positive energy to be given away by Sunshine.

I must say that Uncle Krunkus's "Dark Army" song now has nearly 100 plays on my iTunes list, so it will be a tough battle to win the ring of free action away from my favorite Uncle, but you can try. Far better to go after deerg or the ring of positive energy.

So give it your best shot, and may we all have fun and poke fun at each other for a long time to follow! Cheers!

Les

You know, I was going to comment that there haven't been many contributions to this album so far and it's been a little while since we got started, but then I realized that I have not even made a contribution myself! Duh on me! haha! So I better get to work, and you should too... or is the theme too strange or whatever?

Well, if you're too busy to do a new work, please do try to dig up something nice from your personal collection. I'm not sure what will strike Jan's fancy but Sunshine is a new age fan and likes dance music and rhythmic stuff, including deep bass drums. I like powerful ominous rock and roll type stuff. But choose what YOU like best, of course!

OK, so I thought I would do a "Dark Army" Inspired song. I planned it out. I have lyrics and the intention is to start out with Orcs preparing for war and then marching and Men rallying for war and then a battle. So far I have sword sharpening made by a kitchen knife sharpener and some poor blacksmith sounds.

The Lyrics of the Men Commander about half way through the song are as follows (shouted):

We have lived in fear too long
While dark forces grew more strong
The time has come for us to fight
The enemy is upon us
They seek to rape and plunder
To kill and maim for their own gain
We will not be crucified
We are righteous, today we fight
The battle has commenced
The nightmare has begun
Charge!

And then battle noises commence. I dunno, just bits and pieces of a song are forming together. What would you suggest I do?

Les

Cool Les .. CHUCK it! I say experiment with some music that fits into your lyrics and mood. Play and refine the music, lyrics and phrasing, until you get to a place that you like. Very Happy

Look on Sound Transit or Archive.org for some sounds or field recordings for your Orc army

Yeah,
Slow down a machine gun and use it as the back beat!
Add some magic missiles, fire balls and sonic blasts with a WSG type chuck routine!
Sneak a reversed French national anthem in there! Very Happy

BTW It could be Italian, Swedish, Congo etc. No offence intended! Very Happy

Hack up some voice multiplier, making one voice sound like a raging hoard!

OK, my song is ready for you to enjoy. It's actually a video. This was a collaborative effort of four artists. Ivan wrote the poem and did the video, a lady who wishes to remain anonymous did the voice, and I created the audio by using one-liners written by kijjaz. Here is the video:

Actually it's a bit off-topic for myths and legends, but whatever, it's my only recent song creation. It was really satisfying to work with these people although my part was fairly minimal. I really like Ivan's work especially, the way the video segments represent the poem lyrics so well. As a person with paranoid schizophrenia, I can really relate to it, and enjoying the video might leave you with an impression of what the disorder is like. Enjoy.

Awesome work!! Major super extremo coolness! shakng2

BTW - Is that paranoia? I think I've always got at least one channel of that stuff playing in my head. Wink Thankfully, it's not the only channel I receive! Very Happy

Yes, i feel that the video very effectively represents the nature of paranoia. Also, Ivan says that he attempted to convey the notion that paranoia may or may not be based on real persecution, or partially so. In my case I am certain that I was attacked by a number of people, however I now realize that some or perhaps a lot of my perceived attacks were in fact not real. Thankfully due to rest and lots of healing time, much of my paranoia has subsided. But it's always there lurking under the surface.

Pretty suggestive stuff. I remember the poem from the ChucK show. Good work!

Thanks friends! I really like it too, though I must give most of the credit to Ivan because he wrote the poem and did the video. This is my second really successful collaboration effort. The first has been the ongoing use of kijjaz's code in my ChucK applications. It's really great to work together with people who have complimentary skills. See you in the chatroom.

Unfortunately I have some unpleasant news. The three rings are missing. I don't know where they went, though I had a housekeeper borrow $80 from me and disappear, ignoring my phone calls. I just noticed the rings missing, and I'm not pointing fingers, yet I can't help but wonder if she took them. So no prizes folks, sorry about that.

Smile appreciate it, Scott! Smile

In other news, I found the rings! whoot! I'm still out the 80 bucks, but hey live and learn. At least she didn't take the rings. So there will be prizes after all.

OK, my ring, the ring of free action goes to Uncle Krunkus and I've got his mailing address already from the chatroom. Sunshine's ring of positive energy has yet to be given out, and Jan now wishes to rename his ring from deerg to something else. So chaos reigns supreme here as always!

I would like to make a special point of putting out an enormous thanks to my buddy Les for the "Ring of Free Action" which arrived in the mail yesterday!
I am truely honoured and humbled to receive such a work of arcane art Les.
And for a track I haven't even successfully mastered yet!
Thankfully, the ring is living up to it's name already and today I made some major headway in sorting out the lab.
Thanks again Les. Very Happy

You earned it Andy! Remember the ring is Sterling silver so you can clean it with silver cleaner or with a toothbrush and toothpaste in a pinch. I still have the ring of sound to give away whenever Jan awards it...
