Midi controlled dimmer Subject description: I'm looking for a way to have the lights of a show controlled by midi control changes on my pro tool |

Hello everybody.
I'm writing here because I'm studying a system to have the lighting of a theatre show controlled by MIDI messages from Pro Tools. I need to use just one computer and the same timeline for audio and light and possibly the same software. I'm thinking that MIDI control changes can be translated into a DMX signal and fade in and out lights or other equipment connected to my dimmers.
If I haven't been clear please write questions here .
Any idea or suggestion very appreciated
thanks |

Midi Control of Dimmers Subject description: Midi Dimmers and MIDI-DMX convertors |
 |
|
ELATION makes the CYBER PAK dimmers...4@ 600 watt dimmers, on one Edison cord, so 1800 watts max. Can be controlled via MIDI or DMX. about $200 street price.
There is a similar device called LIGHTMASTER dimmer, similar working..
There is a product named "IF501", available from various sellers including MEDIAMATION (mediamat.com) that is a MIDI to DMX convertor...use MIDI to control DMX dimmers, etc list price about $500.
There are other MIDI-DMX converters made as well. |

| Come to think of it, I should wire my entire neighbourhood with these and have a block party, with me as the entertainment. |
