Hi everyone!

Is there anyone who has an INIT patch for my Nord Wave?
It would make creating my own sounds a lot easier.

Thanks in advance,

Pixie

The wave can make an init patch for you! Just press shift+ the button in the 'mono mode' section on the left hand side of the panel. There's a label under that button saying 'sound init'.
There's also a sample init function to load in the default settings for any sample.

Hi Jamesb.

I saw those buttons too but it didn't work.
Maybe the synth was in a wrong mode or something.
I just started with the manual, I'll give it another try tomorrow.
Thanks for your help. I let you know how it turns out.

Thanks,

Pixie

See
Manual page 17 wrote:
Sound Init

By pressing the Sound Init button (Shift + mono mode buttons), the settings of the Slot in focus will be initialized.
This provides you with a neutral starting point if you want to program a sound from scratch.

•• The settings of the oscillator waveforms, oscillator mix and the program effects will be excluded from the initialization.
The effects will be turned off for the Slot but the actual settings will not be changed.

Thanks Wout,

That explains it then.
I have to set every parameter to zero and other settings off.
I want it t start as my Virus with a saw wave and work my way up gradually and then save the patch as INIT somewhere in the memory.

BTW
I know this is off topic (sorry) but I really need help with the CS-80 sounds from the Vangelis song Chung Kuo, from his China album.
This is very, very important for me.
I can program my own sounds on all my synths that's ok.
For this song I wanted to use my Virus, my NMG2, my Wave and maybe a good softsynth.
Does anyone have any advice for me, some guidance?
Recreating some else's sounds is totally new for me.

Thanks in advance, I hope you can help me.

Thanks Wout for the INIT tip

Hi Pixie

I'm not sure how useful you'll find this Youtube video on how to create a CS80 Vangelis lead sound (on a MicroKorg) but there is a demo of Chung Kuo near the end of the video.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0u-H-hoLXbY

Hope that helps!

Hey Fordy,

Thanks for the link!
I know it will help.
I don't own a Micro Korg but the principles stay the same.
Although I find my Nord Wave a little more difficult to program, but that's probably a lack of experience.

thanks again,

Pixie

Hi Pixie

Yes the principals are the same and it's quite helpful the way in which he tells you what waveform to use and how much to detune them etc. You won't get the exact same result on a different synth but at least it it gives you a good place to start Very Happy

Good luck!
