Nord Lead 2/2x manager Subject description: ...what I want to do... |
 |
|
Hi! I'm Carmine and I'm writing from Italy!
I'm a musician (drummer) and a programmer with a synth passion!
I bought a nord rack 2x and I cant' believe that isn't a powerful sysEx manager for our instrument! So, I decided to write one myself...
The application will run under windows on .NET framework, actually I'm able to receive/transmit sysEx from/to nord lead...
What I would do is an application that allows you to choose the SysEx through the tags (a kind of iTunes ) and transmit to nordLead...and maybe edit them using an editor like NordGen but more powerful (it can be controlled via MIDI directly from nordlead or vice versa)...
The bad news is that the application probably will not be free...
The good news is that I sell at a very low price, affordable for everyone!
What do you think about? |

Not that important, but it shows I would plead to a special part for Performances. In the first place to send them to the synth. NordGen doesn't do this. In the second place it could be handy a Performance can be constructed in an Editor, maybe by drag&drop. Performance mode is a forgotten way to make a gig easy to do, only constructing it is a drag... I always turned white in the face hearing that Lire figures Quote: | What do you think about? | I don't think anymore, but I'm thrilled!

.NET framework come built-in with Windows xp, vista, seven...then, no problems!

Transmit and receive performance is not a problem...what do you mean with drag&drop? You want to drag&drop single patch to a slot?

Just to clarify, what do you want is:
drag patches to slots and send the entire performance to the nord lead or when you drag a patch to a slot this is transmitted to the nord lead? |

The first option.
Performance mode is a power tool on stage.
The Lead uses Programs and Layers, which are more Programs working together. When saved this is done in Performance mode, because this part of the synths memory is able to upload more than one Program (up to four). The most important feature of a 4-Slot single Program Performance is the player can easily switch between the four Slots. Also one is able to run three Slots and scroll through the memory of one Slot to change the Lead sound. To create this in the memory (best to use a PCMCIA card) there has to be an easy to organize memory bank. This could be a task for a tool, apart from other things.
