Hello guys,

after many post with (fuzzy!) questions... I noticed that I may be wrong in my thinking (like always!) .. in fact I have a NM1, and a Virus TI Snow. I will keep the VIrus for sure.... but I am fed up with the NM1 Editor. sorry!

I have a new mac and the NOMAD editor doesnot really work with certain patches... I love my NM1 but this situation makes me feel bad with Hybrid Synth.. Synth connected to PC with an UI on the laptop Sad

if the OS is not supported, what do we do? I know that nomad guys are doing a great job! But Clavia did not give the editor source code .. Which is strange for me!!! they should make this software supported by the community ... and not getting guys like me hungry!

So now, I am thinking of selling my NM1 and buy a Nord Lead 2X Rack

Can you tell me if I wil be disappointed if I buy this Nord Lead 2X? is it going to complete my songs with the virus ti snow?

Thanks!!

PS: once I will have recorded all my previous sounds (audio wave) from my NM1 .. I will sell it

It'll probably make you more productive, because you won't be up all night tweaking away. Wink

But what would be wrong with buying a really cheap PC laptop running W98 or something?

thanks for your reply!

for the PC I have an old PC with Nord Editor running fine Smile
The issue is that I am sort of lazy when I arrive in my "studio".. open up the PC... windows takes ages to load Wink... then I open up the mac, my machines, etc...

Humm.. all these steps makes me less happy to play music! it is a sort of constraint.. of course it is only my feeling.. and few years ago I loved to open up the computers .. wait and play !!!

I am just changing Smile

PS:
I tried to use the nord editor under Wine on my mac .. but it did not work neither

I do know what you mean. In fact I bought a Blofeld to replace one of my Micromodulars (got a load of patches on the other that I don't really need to reprogram- so I don't really need a PC, but I do have an old Compaq laptop for that if the need rises).

To be honest I hardly have any time at all these days for music making- with kids, and a dictatorial wife (!!!), it's crazy! To quote Scott Stites, I just have to grab bits of the scenery as they fly by!!

Sorry for my english Smile
I meant that when I want to play music, I don't want anymore to wait for the system to load Smile I don't want to open a PC while I have another MAC running... these are contraints agains making music Wink

And.. in fact, I live the same situation as you.. job, family, kids, etc... arrg, so I don't find time for my music.. and when I can ... I loose time in opening my PC + MAC, the Nord Editor, etc.

Smile
I guess that buying the NL 2X could be a good idea, no?
Smile))

Nord leads are good. I'm sure Wout will agree too, but the NM is just in a class of its own.

Bootcamp?

I agree "NM1 is in a class of his own".. I am thinking of all the different emulations, nice seq, nice weird sounds, the different modules you can patch.. the excellent vocoder... what an hard decision to take!

for the bootcamp.. well I use ableton live under mac os, I don't want to install this. I could use vmware, but it takes a lot of cpu Sad

arrfff..

The Lead is much more a performance synth than the NM1.
The NM is much more a studio machine.

If you want both go for the G2, probably the G2X... (if available)

hello and thanks for your answers Smile

if I go for a G2 or G2X, I will fall down into the same issue.. is the OS of my laptop will in the future be supported by the clavia editor Sad

G2 is a machine I dream to get but too expensive for me right now Sad

Have a nice wk and good music!
