The MPS calls for both no and nc switching jacks....I cannot source the normally open type...can I just use a two pole non switched socket instead of the normally open switched one? Or how do I achieve this with available jack types?

It seems that manufacturers do not commonly use the "normally open" or "normally closed" terminology...so I would very much appreciate advice and maybe a link to the correct type on Mouser or another supplier.

With thanks

Switchcraft 502-112AX for one. There is a group buy over at Muff here. I don't know if it's open to Australians, but there's a Mouser link at least.

You can buy good quality knockoffs of these jacks from Bridechamber.

Personally I just buy all normally-closed jacks and then I don't have to think about it. They are "normally open" if you simply ignore the switching lug.

PS I think I read your question backwards. "Normally open" is just a standard TS jack. Normally open means that when nothing is plugged in, the lug associated with the tip does not complete a circuit.
