Good People -
Recently one of my closest friends, Tim Smith lost his 12 year old daughter Taylor. It was sudden and unexpected. As you can imagine my heart broke for him and his family when I heard the news. Follow this link http://www.examiner.com/article/taylor-smith-letter-pneumonia-death-reveals-letter-girl-s-words-to-future-self
to learn more about Taylor Scout Smith, as she was truly a remarkable young lady.
I knew Taylor since she was an infant, and it was later in life that it became her dream to travel the world (and possibly the galaxy second). She was fearless and compassionate and was an old soul.
I have taken it upon myself to curate a compilation from musicians, poets and artists such as yourselves in honor of her passing. Her church has a Memorial Fund and any, and all proceeds received will be given directly to her fund.
My goal is to collect music, poems, and artwork from every continent, or ideally from as many places around the world as possible, and release this collection via bandcamp on my label Waiting World Music. I welcome any submissions, which can be sent via dropbox, ftp, soundcloud, whatever. Deadline for submissions is Feb. 21, 2014.
Guidelines:
1. Any music or poetry (please submit as audio) and or other artwork must have an uplifting feel. Sorry, no dark ambient or experimental tracks (I know, I know, perhaps this is the time for you to try something new?). This is meant to be an uplifting and positive release in which not only can the family listen and feel support, but so can other listeners.
2. All audio must me submitted in lossless audio formats and by said deadline to be considered for the release.
3. *This isn't a guideline but world music themes are welcomed and encouraged. She may have been the next Indiana Jones...
pm me here if you have any questions. Thanks in advance! _________________ "Oh, it's yours? Then go ahead and kick the shit out of it..." as said to Michael Victor by Howard Moscovitz 06/05/05
