Ehi folks,
I'd like to add a 'legato' behavior to the seq event object but I can't figure out how.
In the appended patch there is a not-so-effective solution, using the first row of the seq as trig signals, and the second one as gate signals, both rows going into an 'or' gate. The problem is the gate signal from the second row would also trigger the envelope, which is something I don't want.

Ideally, the first row would send the trigger signal to the envelope, while the second would just force the envelope to stay 'up' for the specified duration, without triggering it.

There should be a cleaner solution that I can't see.

Any thoughts?

I think that you need an ADSR type envelope with a sustain segment if you want to use a long gate for legato. As you probably noticed, the AHD only triggers on the positive edge of the gate signal, but then ignores the length of the gate.

There are some other options for the AHD though, like using the parameter modulated version and adding a value sequencer to modulate the hold time parameter (short times for trigger steps, longer times for gate [legato] steps), or maybe even use a MIDI automated morph on the hold time parameter…

Thanks Varice, your hints seems promising, a mod Adsr could be just what I need, I'll give it a try.
