Subject description: old led vu meters...

Hi everyone.
My boss was throwing out a load of old bits of synths and mixing desks and I rescued some of what he was going to get rid of.
Included were some VU meter modules but I'm not sure what desk they're from.. Can anyone recognise where they're from by the pictures?
It might be nice to use them in a future project but I'm not sure how they would work.. If I had a schematic of what they came from it might help....

Cheers.
Steve.

Look pretty obvious to me.

Look at the first picture. Bottom 4 pins are audio inputs, next 2 that are tied together are ground then the top is the positive voltage. You can verify this by seeing which pin is going to the negative on the electrolytic caps (namely the biggest one!).

I would start by sending an audio signal to the bottom pin, then connect the ground and incrementally try +5v to +9V.

What you're looking for is a bit subjective - do the meters look bright enough?

It might take something higher up to +15V, but proceed with caution. Don't want to blow it up Wink

Sneakthief. Your're right! Thanks.
+5V and ground and the other four for the respective LED meters. Smile
I think they come form an Akai recorder... I can't remember which one though.

OK. Do you want to earn double points??
Anyone want to earn DOUBLE POINTS????

My boss was also going to throw out this! : see pic below.
I found it in the bin pile and pointed out to him that it had a CEM3394 on it.
Oh, he said. I thought it was a 3372. I've got hundreds of those. So now its sitting in my flat.
Smile Smile Smile
I know what the chips are, the CEM is a vco/vcf etc on one chip. Used in the AX60, Doepfer and Sequential circuits synths.
The M5206 is a VCA chip and the 5218 is a dual op amp.
But what synth is this from??
Dave (the boss) was vague and I cant find any reference to it on the interweb....

It's either DIY or from an arcade machine. Doesn't match up with any Akai, SCI or Simmons gear that used it.
