MM editor will not recognise midi ports

I am running the Editor as Win 98 compatible and it hangs while 'still looking'

for the midi port.

Playing the MM with midi is working fine.

Working OK here on windows 8.1 with edirol um3ex ...

It may also be a cable issue.

You could also try other compatibility modes.

I wonder if some other program is hogging the port?

I dont have any music software running while using the editor.
