Sequencer working, or PEK broken? Subject description: sequencer problems |
 |
|
Hi
I've just been given a PEK, which is (as you know) a beast. I started working through the manual which seems fairly straight ahead, however, when I got to the sequencer section I tried the instructions, but nothing happens when you press start:stop after setting your sequence either manually or by playing it in.
Now, since there aren't too many shops or experts in my area (Brussels, Belgium), can anyone give me any tips to test if my PEK is actually working properly, as I have a sneaking feeling that something may be amiss?
You can always give me a simple step-by-step example, which will certainly prove that everything is/isn't working!
Thanks in advance.
p.s. The person who gave me the synth is a studio that has too much equipment and wasn't using the synth often. I notice they also couldn't get the sequencer working. |

Did you assign the sequencer to an oscillator? Sequencer destination needs to be set to something, some times it can be set to "off".
Also, have you tried flipping through the presets? There would be a few which uses the sequencer(s).
Finally, I think there is a "Lock Sequencer" parameter, a global setting which can produce unexpected results. _________________ Muied Lumens Sub Forum

Hi robsol
Thanks for your response. In fact I've managed to get the whole thing sorted (more or less). What I hadn't noticed was that the internal clock was set to external midi, which meant nothing was being triggered. I changed that to internal and the whole synth sprang to life!
Next problem is reading the manual in full and working out how each channel can be used, and then lastly a good clean up! Unfortunately the synth comes from a 'smoker's' studio and the pots/knobs don't seem to react so well - at least hope its just a clean up.
Thanks again. |
