I have loaded som sounds to my micro, but there is no sound when playing the kbd?
I Can not trigger the sounds with the C4 key either . No sound at all!!

Then i turned my computer editor on then suddenly i could hear sound.

I wonder what i am doing wrong? When i save the patches to the micro i opened under file menu and loaded the patch from my hard drive. Then choose save in synth and selected a memory location 1-99

Have I forgotten one more thing?

I should be able to play without the computer turned on.

Cheers

Yes, this should be possible, but it is not directly obvious to me what you could have forgotten.

You did not explicitely mention loading a patch on the micro ... aand .. on the NM keyboard there is an issue with having gaps in the patch bank .. but that makes it impossible to select patches beyond the gap .. so prolly not the issue.

MIDI settings are OK I assume?

I guess they are alright
The tiny dot is flashing as midi receives input data, but no sound.
Thought the output was gode, but that works with the editor

I used a USB to midi cable and my Mac as kbd. It worked with my volca, but not with the MM. So I guess it's the setup somehow since there is midi data flow and sound, just not without the editor.

I just have to try again and see if it will work.

Just need another midi cable.

Cheers

What can cause a unit to blink showing incoming midi, but no sound is coming out?

Cheers

Only thing I can think of is that MIDI is not set up correctly in the synth ... could be it is set to ignore stuff, or the channel may be wrong.

Connected my Yamaha EX-7 and it plays the micro, but only when the editor is running. Emediately the program freezes the micro stops outputting sound.

I remember choosing save in synth, but maybe I only saved it in the editor/ synth and need to do one more save somehow before closing the editor and disconnecting the synth.

I know I am missing something. Got to check the manual one more time
Cheers

Hi Jens,

And Merry Christmas to you too!

I have some questions if you don’t mind…

When you power on the Micro (without the Editor software running) the front panel LED should momentarily display the OS version number and then 1 to show that Patch 1 is loaded from the Micro’s memory. What does your Micro show on power up?

Now start the Editor software. It should immediately show the patch loaded in the Micro (which should be the number 1 patch stored in the Micro). What does your Editor show?

The editor is 3.03 and patch one only loades whenever I press a patch key foward and then back to nr 1

That is a problem with the Micro. It should load Patch 1. What does the Editor show before you change patches?

Patch 1 may be corrupted. After manually selecting Patch 1 from the Micro’s memory does that patch work?

The editor just shows a blank screen. No patch.
I have to press a button on the micro before it dumps a patch

After that it plays all patches without any problems as long as I don't exit the editor

Well, now we have another problem symptom: the Micro does not appear to load Patch 1 on power up as it should.

I would suggest saving a different (known good) patch into the Micro to replace the current Patch 1 to try to get the Micro to at least start properly on power up.

Hi

Problem solved.

For the micro modular to function without software editor open, I need to disconnect the module from the PC.

Just thought of it in the middle of the night when I had to visit the toilet. Wink

Thanks for the help. Weird but apparently mine works like that and probably your too.

Happy new year
Jens

Shocked

Never had that ... something odd in the MIDI interface maybe ... anyway, glad you got it solved Smile
