There appears to be a modification for the A-124 version of the Wasp filter which allows it to self oscillate (Soldering a 10k resistor in parallel to R13 (27k).

I was wondering if a similar modification was possible with the CGS49 and if so how it was done.

I think the A-124 mod lowers the resistance of the feedback path, and I guess doing a similar thing to the 33K resistor connected to the resonance pot of the CGS49 circuit will achieve similar results. Using a 10K trimmer to put in parallel with the resistor will make the maximum feedback level adjustable. Haven't tried this yet myself, though! HTH
