Nord Modular G2 Editor 1.62 and OS X High Sierra 10.13.6 |
 |
|
Hi, my first post here. I have my G2 running with Nord Modular G2 Editor 1.62 on OS X High Sierra 10.13.6. But unfortunately it's not running stable. I get non reproducible errors like "Major Error" and "Usb Connection Lost". Does anyone have the same problems, same system or an idea how to fix it?
Thanks in advance

I send a request to North Technical Support. Let's see if they can help. |

OSX later versions Subject description: Parallels or VMWare |

I'm looking into a solution to run the G2 on later versions of OSX. I've tried Wine to no avail and have also tried parallels and it didn't work either.
of course I had problems installing the USB driver on both for some reason |

Hi. I'm able to get my G2 working on every mac OS up to Mojave using 1.62 editor. Also able to get it to work on Parallels on a Mac. How? Use an extremely short USB cord. Works fine on Mojave (using an old mac with a regular usb 3 input). Not sure if it works with the newer usb ports on macs. |

Same here. Did you figure out a solution? Currently trying our various options with Parallels in Catalina. Virtualized Windows 10 with Editor 1.62 seems to work perfectly. Virtualized High Sierra seems to constantly be producing MAJOR ERROR issues (loosing connection)…

Second that. Any feedback?

NORD MODULAR G2 EDITOR – OS X HIGH SIERRA 10.13 Subject description: Connection issue between Nord Modular G2 and its Editor on OS X 10.13 |

Hi there,
I'm facing the same problem.
Anyone have a solution regarding those connection losses under OS X High Sierra? Is the short USB cable working well? If yes, how long should it be?
Also, is there any viable and stable alternative for a G2 editor?
I've tried G2 Editor from FMX but it didn't recognize my synth neither. Anyone experienced this as well?

Thanks for your help |

You need to install libusb to make that editor work. You may have to install homebrew first (https://brew.sh/index_de) and then download libusb via the shell. Don't ask me how I did it, it was more luck than anything else.
Wine and other apps based on wine won't work with the editor, since there's no way to install the G2's windows USB driver with them. The demo works though. _________________ Fish don't swim. They dive. |
