Not able to upload presets using Sysex Librarian Subject description: Andromeda crashes or simply ignore the messags |
 |
|
Recently i downloaded the latest version of Sysex Librarian and I'm trying to upload banks or single presets to the A6 and I'm not having any success
I remember about 1 year ago it would work perfectly, but for some reason now it doesn't really work.
I remember something about having to "slow down" the transmission on Sysex Librarian but i can't really make it work even slowing down the transmission now.
If i upload a whole BANK to the Andromeda CARD-2 for instance it will look like it worked but when i navigate to CARD-2 bank the Andromeda freezes.
If i upload a single sound, it seems to work, but then when i select the sound it also crashes.
Any advice?

To makes matter worse, every bank i try to upload sysex ends up locking up my Andromeda.
Tried loaded Brian Kehew presets from:
https://www.alesis.com/products/view/a6-andromeda
and try to upload to CARD and to User Banks and they all end up locking my Andromeda.
If i HARD Reset them use the card and the Andromeda by itself, just saving presets and copying them around, it all works.
I'm using the Cirklon as MIDI Interface, but i remember it has worked previously with the Cirklon, so i don't think it's a MIDI Interface problem, but rather some configuration on the Andromeda or on Sysex Librarian..
I have disconnected the MIDI OUT cable to avoid any sort of loopback, also disabled all MIDI messages except the Sysex ones..
Tried everything but it doesn't work.. I'm pulling my hair |

Sorry I didn't see this sooner. Yeah, the quality of your MIDI interface is key.
I used to use a $15 chinese clone of the M-Audio Uno. Until I tried to do some sysex and it just did not work.
Got the real thing, and never had another problem. |

sometimes you can adjust the transferspeed within the program , reduce it ..
otherwise a good midinterface will help a lot.
ps on some programs , like cubase, you have to enable sysex transfer in the midifilter first |

I've spent years trying to transfer patches to my Andromeda with no success...it's driving me nuts...
I even built a librarian inside my Andromed Editor which can successfully download patches, banks, and mixes as .SysEx. And also upload them to the Andromeda.
But whenever I re-upload patches back to my Andromeda, whenever I select them, it freezes the Andromeda. I've also tried using MidiOX, Bome SysEx, etc, so it dosn't just happen with my Editor.
I'd really like to work with someone who can upload patches to their Andromeda successfully, and also has my Editor, so I can validate weather or not my code is correct (in theory it is), or if my Andromeda is broken, OR if my MIDI Interface sucks. Any takers!? _________________ Checkout the Limited Edition Analog Astronauts 2023 Spring Collection |

Funny enough I have your editor and i'm trying to solve exactly this problem. I finally purchased a memory card and i'm trying to move banks and do a bit of patch housekeeping. Looking at the bank send on your editor i was a little confused how exactly to move my user bank over to the card1 bank. I ended up trying a freeware Andromeda library manager i found. It was able to pull the user bank and save it off as sysex but when i tried sending it over to the a6, well it said it was still receiving sysex for about a min or two after the file had finished transferring. After the receiving sysex message cleared none of the patches were stored. There could be something wrong with the sysex dump (maybe incomplete) from my user bank as i haven't tried using a known good dump yet. Happy to try anything to get this sorted. |
