Subject description: need info on D1 in the Casio SA-7 circuit
Reply with quote  Mark this post and the followings unread

Anyone have a schematic or photo of the Casio SA-7 circuit with the specs of the diodes used?
Elaboration:
I have a Casio PK-1. I'm trying to add a DC barrel connector so I can use it without batteries. However the positive lead needs to be bridged into the rest of the circuit. I thought about throwing in a jumper, but after looking around I found an image (attached, sorry for potato quality) of the area in question and there appears to be a diode making the connection labeled D1. In the PK-1 there is no such diode but the leads and holes are there, so I would like to add it. I haven't been able to find a service manual or schematic or photo with information on this diode's spec.

Any help appreciated. Very Happy

welcome party!

Since it is in the power section (and labeled D1) it is most likely there to protect against reverse polarity.
A suitable replacement would be something like an 1N4001~1N4007 or similar as long as it can handle enough current.

Thanks so much! That's what it looked like, but I'm a newbie so I was a bit worried.
