Dammit!

The first hour was nice to hear .. today wanted to hear the rest too .. and then my RME broke! The 2nd soundcard in just a couple of weeks not able to stand the heat of this summer .. apparently .. although the RME gave up when cooling down actually.

Now if that was the only thing .. but i was not able to buy a new RME one ... no one has the UFX II (and several other RME stuff) it seems ... possibly due to chip shortages.

Ended up using the h2n recorder thingie for (USB class compliant) audio I/O on the windows laptop .. but nothing yet for this computer ... ordered a cheap behringer usb multi-channel thingie instead of a new RME ... for now .. it probaly will not have the routing facilities the RME had .. let's see where it will fly.

(and will listen the rest later maybe :')

Sorry to hear about the interface troubles. You run them essentially 24/7, right? Maybe if you send a mail to RME they might be interested in the feedback, even compensate you for returning them so they can troubleshoot the hardware. I mean, they are intended to run for years in pro installations. You'd think they'd outlive laptops in the same conditions...

Yeah I think it had been on since day one and basically never off .. forgot when I bought it though .. two or three latops I think during that time.

But eh RME is a bit of of an odd company .. or stubborn .. when i asked them to explain a strange noise thing that their interfaces have (both te UFX and the Multiface II) they just denied it's existance and suggested that i should send it in for 'repair'.

It is / they are not broken though it is just dithering or something, or maybe the driver .. or windows .. I think .. anyway .. when they know things best .. they are entitled to that.

(but dammit! I still want an RME again, likely an UFX II :').
