Can someone explain how to use the JAM Inputs on the CD4018BE?

Does this act like a parallel load of data to set the divide function.

I have been able to get the divide by 2,4,8,and 10 working the
traditional way, as well as the 3,5,7,9 with outputs fed back to data with a
CD4093 NAND gate. (wired as AND gates)

I tested this with a CD40106BE as the clock.

Is data required with the JAM Inputs enabled?

Thankyou from a newbie.
