Looks like my last bus into town is 20:01, so is there any chance my set could finish by 19:30 please, if not then I'll just do 30 minutes instead _________________ Jez

Looks like I can make a revision so that you can start earlier. I have to step away now and will be back around 2330 GMT to work on it. _________________ -- Kevin

I thought it was odd you were shown as redgreen Shane, but checked and that's what you put in your sign-up post, so I thought maybe it was something new _________________ Jez

Excellent! btw -- I had to revise the schedule, and your start time has moved by 30 minutes to 22:00 GMT.
Hope that works for you. Thank you! _________________ -- Kevin

Hello! I went ahead and closed the signup now. Since the schedule changed a few times, please check it and let me know if your assigned time won't work for you.

mtvic just turned up in the irc chat and said he did have troubles using the internet.
This would of course have made it impossible for him to perform - bloody interwebs always.
Anyway, this was not a noshow but a sad case of tech issues.
too bad mike & next time beter

Sorry that you had internet issues. Alas, these things happen sometimes.
Mike, please plan to play for the March Equinox event. Always enjoy your music! _________________ -- Kevin

Unplanned Improvisation for the Event
Although I wasn’t originally scheduled to perform, I ended up doing an impromptu improvisation using my modular system with a test patch.
Lately, I’ve been focused on building Arduino-based control modules, which served as the backbone of the setup. The audio path was intentionally simple: just four VCOs (each outputting triangle waves) without any filters or additional complexity.
The first new module I used was a Sample and Hold with voltage quantization and mapping. It includes a built-in mini-sequencer that I can engage and adjust on the fly, with a selectable number of steps. The quantizer/mapper allows me to choose from several predefined scales and modes, which are stored in software. One of the key features is the cross-fader, which lets me smoothly transition between modes. A particularly useful algorithm for the cross-fader is the common-tone method, where the transition passes through a middle mode that represents the intersection of the two scales.
I also used a new Quad Envelope Generator. On this prototype module, all the envelopes share the same ADDSR parameters, but I can control two sets of envelopes (A and B) and blend between them using the cross-fader.
The melodies in the set were generated by an older module I built years ago, the CGS 1/finite Melody Generator (designed by Ken Stone). The new Sample and Hold module was designed with this and future melody generators in mind, providing a versatile foundation for evolving patches.
In the end, the performance was an off-the-cuff exploration, with me adjusting the patch in real-time—turning knobs and tweaking parameters to keep the sound musically varied and interesting.
