Space: the final frontier. These are the voyages of a gentle podcast. Its continuing mission: to explore wonderful new sounds; to seek out new vibes and new aural experiences; to boldly play what no one has heard before. Well, quite so. Because you might have heard similar tunes before. And our voyage does explore material highly inspired by others. Like for tonight, where the notes take us back to the golden age of electronic music, where Space Ambient and Berlin School meet up to celebrate excellent endeavours. Join in for fantastic treats by F.D.Project (The Last Curtain), Cello (Modular Timelapse), Vanderson (2055), Vortex Elements (Wavement), Erik Wøllo (Solastalgia), The Fourth Dimension Project (Colours of the Universe), Fratoroler (L.I.K.E.S.)

We are going to have fun tonight with some modern electronic music. We're rapidly speeding towards the end of the year, I think there are three more shows to come before we increment the annual counter once again. Btw., the Schallwelle award voting will start soon, so it's definitely time to revisit many of the new releases by checking out this year's editions of syndae. I'm quite sure, you will find some favorable albums on the show. The catalogue of releases for 2024 is vast, as usual. Don't forget or miss to support your favourite artists. Maybe there is one among those of tonight, where you will get fine treatments by Axess/@maxxessmusic (Sleep), WEGA (Echoes From A Gentle Past), Vortex Elements (Wavement), Paul Ellis & Pabellón Sintético (Veiled Portraits), F.D.Project (The Last Curtain), Spectral Tune (Schallplatte 27), Ivan Black (Define and Refine), Stefan Erbe (Light of Sirius), Synth replicants (Dreams Of Paradise).

It's the time of the year where the "good old" Christmas songs tend to be played all over the radio stations. Luckily, I rarely listen to radio. But I already have been whammed. Well, at least they don't start playing them by the time they start selling Christmas chocolate. And there are people who like to listen to these songs, for example my wife. Well, there will be no such music on syndae. At least not for tonight. But I chose to have some chilling tunes, so your ears can rest from all the bells and whistles. Join in for cool stuff by Obituary (始まり), Synth replicants (Dreams Of Paradise), Remote Guest List (An Abyss Of My Own Making). Zero Cult and Goasia (Chill On Ice), Bluetech ft. BISHØP (Spacehop Chronicles 2: Limonchik), 4T Thieves (Fragment (Special Edition)), Steen Chorchendorff Jorgensen (Floating out of Thin Air), Sonic Research Society (Observers), developingrhythm (filtered lounge), Globular (Very Nested Recurrences).

Not long before the festive season, time to look back at 2024 and all the music that wasn't featured on syndae yet. Well, mainly because it did not fit to the theme of a show. I receive quite a lot of submissions that does sound great, but is stilistically a bit off to the sound you are used to. It's still worth listening to, as I think there are so many interesting musical discoveries to make, so many new sensations to feel. So join in tonight for a very cool edition of the show with music by Halogen feat. Synaecide (Retrospective Vol. 4), illocanblo (Various Artists Compilation 2024), Undsidedly (Seventeenth Listen), Dirk Schlömer (Dancin' Shoes), Mad-Tek feat. Gella (Algorhythmic Bias 3.0), Djane Ki feat. M.Nomized (DARK METERS #2), dominykas niaura (bevietystė), Lifting Gear Engineer (Recovery), Kilmarth (Radical Entropy), Džiunglių Dvasios feat. Paulius Soham (Space and Bass), TOKEE (ЛЕЯ), PearFinch (BC Catalogue II (2022-2024)).

Yes, it's this time of the year, where big chunks of chocolate is formed into strange and hollow figurines and such. Like it or not, in many regions of the world, people may follow their believes (generally) freely. For others, it serves as some welcome time out to spend with your family or friends. A common theme of these festive days is the kind of music you hear. And while radio stations tend to play the same plunder each year, welcome to syndae. You do get some nice tunes tonight, as a precognition for the coming days, but it's new, at least to the show. Feeling joyful? Then join in for beauties in sound by Gandalf (A Light from Afar), David Lindsay (With You), Jim Ottaway (Don't Let The Sun Catch You Crying), Steen Chorchendorff Jorgensen (Floating out of Thin Air), Kori Linae Carothers (On A Cold Frosty Morning), Fiona Joy Hawkins (Music For Study And Relaxation), Joe Weineck (Earthlings), Lynn Tredeau & Sherry Finzer (Snowfall), Christina Tourin & Peter Sprague (Imaginings (DuoVersion)), Brian Mulder (Cygnus), Ambient Ballroom (ja ohne geht), Ryan Michael Richards (That Trip to Bethlehem), Rick Sparks (Winter Dream), Dan Kennedy (Ascend to Adonleigh).

That was fast. Or was it? This is the 48th show for 2024 and already the final one for this year. It's name fits the speed the year has passed. Like a 747 on full thrusters. And it carried quite a load of cool and new music as well. For what it's worth, I wish you all the best for your future. Lot's of strange things going on in this one world we occupy. So take care and have a decent time of life in 2025. Thematically we stick with the speed on tonight's edition with beatful and driving music by Ndorfik (Eighteenth Listen), TNT (The December Solstice 2024 Compilation), KΔDΔBRΔ (Friday the 13th (On December)), Elysian Underground (Almost Primordial), Psychoz (Digital Family Vol. 11), Renil Edis & Di.Capa (24 Hours Awake), TOONER (Pushing The Limits), Bunshi (Bupropion), Femii (No Dust), Jeff Appleton (Quadrants 3 - Part 1).

There you have it. Old 2024 left us with a mess, and 2025 in charge to clean it up. Well, we will see, if that works out or will simply continue with what was left behind. But, hey, it's a new round on our elliptical course around the sun and there are many cool things coming. Several musical events already on the horizon and surely an amazing number of great and highly inspiring releases awat us fans in electronic heaven. Like the cool treats you get tonight with music by Gate Eleven (First Contact), Mindheal (Heart and Mind), Side Liner (Time Expiration), Stan Dart (MurInsel 7: Travel Stories), Giovanni Scorpio & Neosir (Vice), Fritz Mayr (Brainwave), Malcolm Galloway (Metazoa), MiDi BiTCH (Hyperborea), Gate Eleven (First Contact).

Final warn... no, final call... for the Schallwelle Award votings. If you have not done so, you can still vote for your favourie artist, album, and ambient album in electronic music. The winners of the voting session will be awarded at the Schallwelle Award ceremonies in March. And there are still tickets available, if you want to join us for the festivities, including live concerts by Gate Eleven, Elektronische Maschine, and one more to be announced. Besides the audience votings there are some categories not for the public but awarded based on jury votes. For one of those categories, named "Your own way", I will present the nominees in this and the coming edition. We will start with NGC 224, Lunaar, Frank Tischer, Colin Rayment, IcingWolf, Mike Hans STEFFL, Imaginary Landscape, LichtBildGestalter.

Taking your own way is not always easy on yourself. It usually means to be smiled upon for not following the main stream or longing for success, as others define it. The core point most often is to follow ones heart and ideas to fulfill one's "need" to express oneself. It's not necessarily some hard choices or descisions to be made, but it may take some courage and choices in live others do not understand. Well, at least it takes some guts to put out your own creations to the world for good or bad, as one never knows about what response to expect. The Schallwelle award's Your Own Way prize is interested in rather unusual ways for finding into electronic music. This is part two of nominee tracks, this time by Mikel Sounder, Spieluhr Records, Secret Moonbase, Vortex Elements, Wellengärtner, Rahara Chillout, MiDi BiTCH, Record Of Tides, Romerium.

Are you annoyed by the current news portfolio? The outlets seem only to know one topic these days. So let's ignore it for at least one hour and join in to this edition of the finest in Space Ambient and Berlin School music. We are back to a normal playlist tonight, after two shows with award applicants, and it's great stuff on the show. Everything falling into very cool sequences, hypnotic like watching gear wheels clicking. But more exciting, for sure. Fantastic musicians as well. And one final applicant named for Your Own Way, although the final list of nominees is already published. Now, pick up your headphones and get going to listen to Liese, Spyra, Vikaluk (Inspyration III), Ken Lusk (Radiant Dawn), Andy Pickford (Expurgations), Michael Brückner (The Seven Planes of Dreams), Fringo Chills (...in Norway), Saiowa (Spottermusic), The 5th Manikin (BERLIN - A Tribute Album for Mark Shreeve).

Have I ever said that the world has become crazy? In this prologue, perhaps? Well, if so or if not: The world has become crazy. Lot's of strange guys (mostly men of course) are going nuts with their ideas of how to treat people. And how to do politics for the people. But, you are not here for reading me ranting. You might have a completely different view on the world entirely. What unites us is the love for electronic based music, and that's what you get in good measure tonight. Incredible tracks by Elektronische Maschine (Life goes on), Faber One & Starlight and BIST & CIXXXJ (Pianeta Ephedrina Vol Uno), Mindheal (Heart and Mind), Simon Heartfield (The State Of Social Movement), Side Liner (Guilty Kitty), Ætheros & city at worlds end and Proton 42 (IDMf Retrospective Vol. 5), Eko_Fisk & Gears in the Rain (Dark Air), Hats Off Gentlemen It's Adequate (The Uncertainty Principle), Wormhole (Hot Trax Vol. 2), Mitochondrial Sun (Machine Dialectics).

When I was younger I was a fanatic fan of swimming and diving. It always had a bit of being in space, "hovering" weightlessly over the ground, kind of flying like a bird. Not sure what made this stop when I got older. It is funny to think of water and air as so similar, except for their particle density. So are fish the equivalent of birds in water? Well, one might argue. However, this hovering in some medium or in no medium, when it comes to space, is kind of fascinating, don't you think? And there is the perfect music for reaching a similar state in mind: Ambient. So, my dear friends in sound, let's go hovering in music tonight with cool tracks by Altus (Ultraviolet), Dashmesh (Biomimesis), Byron Metcalf, John Gregorius, Sean O'Bryan Smith (Primordial Awakening), Cass Anawaty (Cascades), Grant Beasley (Radiant Dawn), Deborah Martin & Cheryl Gallagher (Tibet), dominykas niaura (bevietystė), Tony Gerber (Finland), Solitaire (Trance Halcyon Connection).

Some see it as romantic non-official holiday, some as some commercially induced tradition: Valentine's Day. Both may be right, but fact is that millions of people are out there to have a wondeful time with their partner in life. Or maybe with whomever they spend their current section in life with. Of course, on should celebrate relationships each day in life. One never knows, if and how long it lasts. Some people prefer to enjoy themself. Cheers to you as well, there is no friend like oneself. Whatever you feel like doing. And for all those romantic or otherwise happy people, I have some rather heart warming music selection on this edition with tracks by Stefan Erbe (Metamorphosys), Eleon (Love Everlasting), Time Away (Osirian Wave), Phaeleh (Fear of Silence), Christina Tourin (From the Angelic Harp Realm), Greg Maroney, Sherry Finzer, Suzanne Lansford (Frostmelt), Dino Pacifici & Brannan Lane (Imaginary Horizons), David Mauk (Piano With a View), Margo Vrubel ([45E104-2024] 333), Matthew Labarge (Windy Starry Blue), Thaneco (Cosmic Atlas).

After two rather soft sounding editions, tonight you will get some powerhouse stuff to massage your speaker membranes. Not all full edm, but a good measure of beats to tickle your ear drums. I cannot rule out that it's based to the fact that the current world politics infuse some aggressiveness to my thoughts. But pleasing those feelings by listening to music sounds not so wrong to me. At least it is a non violent treatment. I'd be happy if you join me to listen to still cool music, for any or no reason of course. Tonight's pleasure is brought to us by Cloudwarmer (Nostalgia For a Future That Never Happened), Ivan Black (I've Got Pictures), AutomatA (Bento), Frechbax (Knabaustelmann), Dan-X (Too late), Cixxx J (Hot Trax Vol. 2), Kultur M (Pianeta Ephedrina Volume Due), @beeashra & Ricky Deadking (@Alexander Rues) (Live at U-Site Fusion 99 (Remastered 2025)).

It's end of February, already two months into 2025, time for something compeletely different on syndae: song time. That is, music by ambient and electronic music artists going into lyrics or at least vocals. Yes, one of those rare editions with more than just me mumbling into the mic. The range of styles also is quite wide, some more into electro up to some experimental tracks. And I also use this occasion for some shameless self promotion of remixes done as Talking to Ghosts. Hope you don't mind and will enjoy this unusal treat. So, join me, won't you? For some cool music by Elektronische Maschine (Life goes on), Hats Off Gentlemen It's Adequate (The Uncertainty Principle), Arctic Sunrise vs Talking to Ghosts (Feelings Changing Hands), Stan Dart ft. Stephen Sherrard (Collaboration), Roberto Sass ft. Sara Brito (Cathedral of Lost Love), Time Away & AthinaNiki (In Between), Feralia Planitia (Hyperphantasmic), Baltes & Zäyn vs Talking to Ghosts (Augenlos, doch alles sehend), Pete International Airport (Sea of Eyes), Bernd Scholl ft. Jennifer Ezzeddine (Ship of Fools), MiDaMi (Longing).

So this is the last show before the Schallwelle awards ceremony, which happens to be tomorrow. So on Sunday we will know who the jury and the audience voted for best of their class in 2024. And while we celebrate all the good moments of the past, we look forward with going back to the future. That is traditional style electronic music being on in this edition, where we find space ambient or Berlin School inspired music par excellence. Join me for a cool and mostly sequential ride with tracks by Thaneco (Cosmic Atlas), Krakenkraft (Suspicious Signals), Matthias Lehmann (Winter Saga), Colin Rayment (Penumbra), Ivan Black (Dancing With The Stars), Levente (The Ray Bradbury Chronicles), Abstract Rituals (II), EL-KA (La Rêve), Hello Mr. Klaus (The Fairy of the Cyclical Journey).

Barely a week as gone since the Schallwelle awards were given to the winners in their respective categories. Tonight's edition focuses on the one's awarded. So you will get music by the best discovery for 2024, who is Betageist, the best artist national and international, who are Martin Stürtzer and Kebu, respectively, and the best albums national and international, which are 101, Milky Way by Klaus Schulze and Metamorphic Phases by Colin and Joe Rayment. And finally also the best ambient album voted for, which is Alpha I by State Azure. At the ceremonies, you could meet most of the awarded musicians as well as lots of well known guests, like Chris Bryant (S1gns of L1fe), Thorsten Q Quaeschning (Tangerine Dream), Harald Großkopf, Elektronische Maschine, Olaf Zimmermann (Lifetime award recipient), and many more. So definitely worth a visit. As this show is definitely worth a listen with music by BETAGEIST (Aria), Klaus Schulze (101, MILKY WAY), Kebu (Urban Dreams), State Azure (Alpha I), Colin Rayment with Joe Rayment (Metamorphic Phases), Martin Stürtzer (Phase Transform).

It's space time! Well, at least for most of tonight's edition, where we will visit some of the famous space ships produced on earth. Well, in film and literature that is. Are you a science fiction or fantasy fan? It's fascinating that people are so intrigued by the stars and the universe and maybe alien life forms, while we still do not know about many places on earth. And while we definitely are no species, someone would like to meet, are we? Now, before getting to dark or sinister, let's better focus on what we love, which is great ambient and electronic music. Some of those aural wonders you will get with music by Claude9 (Chords of Love). Stan Dart (Murinsel 7 - Travel Stories). Ambient Indigo, Time Away, Wane of Summer. Progeny-1, Ambient Light, Hellweed, Talking to Ghosts, Helsinki Project (Interstellar Engines), Ivan Black (Some Refugees From Suburbia).

Up next week is April fools' day. Are you in for making fun of people? By definition, it is the day of the year where practical jokes take over and one gets targeted with pranks, which sometimes seem real or get very close to reality. For some country, 2025 may have started as a fool's year, and may stay so for some while (no orange bun intended). But I am not going into politics here. This is a place of joy and fun and should stay so for everyone. So, back to the start. Do you do pranks? Or know of good ones? If so, let me know in the comments. I am always up for a little joke, even I might not look like it. On the other hand, I really like cool and great and modern electronic music. And this is what you will get in tonight's editon with tracks by Urs Fuchs (Wolkenfee), Stefan Erbe (Metamorphosys), AeTopus (iota), Simon Heartfield (The State Of Social Movement), AMPTEK (Pianeta Ephedrina Volume Due), Grosso Gadgetto & Brainquake (Distorted Planet), Feralia Planitia (Hyperphantasmic), niteffect (aztec), Steve Joy (Hatchback), Tonewulf (The Heavy), B. While there are storms happening in the economic world, we gear down a lot and go for some serenity in this edition. Wouldn't it be nice to have humans be united and care for their kind and each other instead of looking for one's own advantage? Well, maybe not for some people. I don't know. Maybe life would be boring that way. I like boring, though. Na, not really. I prefer challenging sounds and musical journeys, for example. That's why there are no drones on syndae. To me, music has to have some kind of structure to it. Something that tickles my ears and my brain. Join me, won't you? For some cool ambient and related music by Erik Wøllo (Where the River Widens), Sine (Impuls), Level Pi (Elektronische Klänge), Cousin Silas & aka:man (Cousin Silas & aka:man), Orchestra Indigo (Hearing Visions), Loneward (Gossamer Wings of Illusion), Blue Is Nine (So Far from Home), Dino Pacifici (Beyond The Solar Influence), sevensy (one2one), Wellengärtner (Movements).

Some people may call it chill out. One could also call it thrill out. Or simply taking a bath in the wonderful world of electronic sounds. Yeah. Yeah, I know, it might be a bit cheesy or rather eggy. But for tonight, right before eastern, I picked some easy eggs for you. So here we have some sound bunnies to please your ears and mind. For this, I picked eggstraordinary artists. And while the life outside seems to go nuttier each day, I hope you find some ease and comfort within the 60 minutes of pleasure sounds. Be in peace with your family or friends or both and enjoy some time off. Join me for joyful and excellent tunes by Carl Weingarten (Songs for a Perigee Moon). Jeff Greinke (Late Rain), David Helpling & Eric "the" Taylor (The Precious Dark). Sine (Impuls), JAFFE (Heroes), Richard Theisen (Shambhala), Urs Fuchs (ET Cosmic B), Monster Taxi (Pacifica), Andrew Schoen feat. Joe Nutter (Soulever), SONAR with David Torn and J. Peter Schwalm (7D Sampler 2025).

So, last weekend many of you celebrated the tradition of the resurrected egg-giving easter bunny... erm... I am sure to be confused a bit. But it surely was traditional. And we are on for tonight to enjoy something traditional electronic music, that I am sure about. It was back in the 80s, when I discovered this specific style of instrumental electronic music for myself and fell in love with it. Of course, lots has changed since back then, but there are still some "descendants" and the like who evolved from that aera and built upon it. Not only that, but there also are some of the early pioneers of this style alive and kicking and still creating great music. Come in to a new edition of this podcast and enjoy the great sounds of Peter Mergener (Sky Space Bar III), GROBEK (Grevelingen), Syndromeda (Serendipity), A Collection of Notes (Last Flowers of Autumn), Conny Olivetti (Rearranging the legs of lady Jane), Andreas Davids (Weltraum), Paul Ellis (Warmth From Other Suns), Andy Pickford (Expurgations Vol. 2).

Tradition always shines on

On this weeks list of todos were quite some interesting things. Had a lot of work at home to do and in my job as well. As always, the time you plan for finishing a job most often does not suffice. Or is this just me? Well, on some point in progress I encountered an issue that let me to rethink the whole approach. So it was not only the weather outside getting warmer, which is nearing the 30 C mark on some days. But the inner heat also rose, as there are deadlines to meet. Well, wanna go for a cool ride? I do, as I need some cooling down. And what better to do with some really great music. On the menu tonight, you will find fantastic sounds by DEMOKRATIE (2 + 1), GROBEK (Grobek 2: Grevelingen), Divine Matrix (Rise of the Sand Gods), Phaeleh (Dark Sky), Stefan Erbe (Metamorphosys), niteffect (copan), The Laconic (Conic Sections), Weldroid (Painted City), Parallel Worlds (Modular Stories), Tonewulf (The Heavy), Reichenhall (kollektion eins).
