More feedback fun! This time with reverb in the loop. It curiously comes alive all by itself, even before the external trigger sound activates. I am guessing it's because the memory for the delay lines and reverb isn't completely cleared when the patch is initialized, and when the attenuation and reverb knobs are turned using midi control sends, little fizzling sounds occur because of this. Any other theories?

Anyway, try to tweak the room size and delay ranges for storm variations. Unfortunately these can't be assigned to knobs or changed in variations (which makes kind of sense since you get nasty clicks sometimes when you change them while a sound is active).

Superb sound!

When I started patching, I mainly used the workspace area to patch. Then I realised that, by splitting the patch between the work and FX areas, I could get more out of the DSP. I think this is because there is seperate DSP set aside for the FX area (bear in mind the FX area is MONO).

Now don't take this the wrong way... I'm not suggesting that this performance needed any more added to it, but if you had split up the modules, then you would have been able to add more if you had wanted to. (The critical patch load percentages to stay under are 25%, 32% and 50% I think - all in manual).

Of course, you may already know all of this, and so you can ignore everything after "Superb sound!". Very Happy

Sheridan

Hmm... I'm not sure I understand what you mean. I've always regarded the FX area as something used for processing the output from polyphonic patches, or as extra workspace for expanded Nord Modulars (mine isn't expanded). Is it possible to use the FX area even after you have filled up the workspaces in all four slots? Shocked

For this noodle I didn't use all of the slots because I was afraid of cluttering up the sound with too much stuff. I should have turned off slot D though... it's not used.

Thanks for the comments! Very Happy
