Subject description: I want to operate switches by midi, how does this work?

I'm trying to work on a synthesizer-sound, which offers me the choice between a slow attack and a high sustain for long notes and a fast attack and little sustain for fast runs. I should be able to switch from one ADSR to the other by using a foot-switch. I thought I had the solution, but I couldn't operate the switches by midi. I should also know which midi control number to use, because I mainly work with a computer.

When you right click on the buttons of a switch module, for example and sw2-1 type, from the popup menu's MIDI-controller sub menu you can select "assign ...". This pops up a screen in whcih you can pick a MIDI CC number to use.

When you have a MIDI controller that sends out values for some CC you don't have the number of just make the MIDI controller send out it's data, then right click / go to the MIDI-controller sub menu and the CC number will be the topmost entry in that submenu.

You do need to know about the MIDI channels though, or the G2 go to synth/synth setiings. For your MIDI controller I don;t know, it should be in the manual.

In your case, where you want to control ADSR parameters with a MIDI controller, it might be more flexible to use a morph on the ADSR knobs and control that morph from a MIDI CC.

Thanks for the tip, I'll try it tomorrow I think. I don't need that much flexibility on the adsr, just the choice between a long tone and a short one.
