How to Midi trigger a patch |
 |
|
O.K.....so I've got this auto-panning patch that right now is using a Clock generator which means that it's constantly making noise when it's up on the screen, say at 120 bpms or whatever. But what if I wanted to use this patch in a MIDI track of one of my songs in Pro Tools where the patch is making noise ONLY when a MIDI note tells it to.......or in other words comes in only during a certain portion of the song? What kind of module do I need to use to make this happen?
I'd also like to know if I can do this with a patch that uses sequencer modules. I know how to sync with bpm.....but can I trigger them from another sequencer so they come in like a little loop a a certain point in the midi track? I know not all of you use PT but this concept goes across the board for any midi/audio program. Here's a screenshot of the patch....is it a matter of adding a keyboard voice to it......and how would I hook it up?
Thanks again to Mosc for hooking me up with Irfanview!

You might want to reset the clock generator as well |

You might want to reset the clock generator as well from the gate signal of the note detect module.
That way it will start on the beat.

Great! Thanks guys! Another way would be to replace the note detect module with a Keyboard voice module, that way you could select your key anywhere up and down the keyboard range. Brilliant. So I guess it's a case of using the Logic Processor module then. Will this also work with sequencer modules as well? _________________ Apple Mac Pro 3.1 2.88 GHz. Intel Xeon Quad
